Introduction

A unique and picturesque area hidden behind north Annapurna around high Manang valley, least visited by trekkers on this virgin country with amazing  panorama of mountains, in the remote high land where elusive and rare snow leopard and Blue Sheep habitats, exploring ancient Buddhist culture and old monasteries around Nar-Phu villages, from warm rice paddies to alpine zone and around remote arctic climatic landscapes.

Day 2    In Kathmandu and trek preparation


Day 3    Drive to Dharapani (1,943m) via Besisahar by bus 7 hours journey


Day 4    Trek from Dharapani to Kotto 5 hours


Day 5    Trek from Kotto to Dharmasala (3,290) 5 hours


Day 6    Trek from Dharmasala to Kayang (3,570m) 5 hours


Day 7    Trek from Kayang to Phu Village (4,200m) 6 hours


Day 8    Rest day at Phu valley hike around Phu village


Day 9    Trek from Phu village to Nar phedi (4,150m) 6 hours


Day 10    Trek from Nar phedi to Nar- Gaon (4,206m) 5 hours


Day 11    Trek from Nar to Kang-La base came (4,500m) 5 hours


Day 12    Cross Kangla Pass (5,320m) to Ngawal (3,675m) 7 hours


Day 13    Trek from Ngawal to Manang (3,540m) 4 hours (End of trek)


Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu airport receive transfer to hotel

On arrival in Kathmandu international airport received by Nepal Spirit representative with a transfer to respective hotels downtown in the hub of Kathmandu city overnight in hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2 : In Kathmandu and trek preparation

In Kathmandu free day for individual activities and trek preparations, on this day once can book for half day sightseeing tour at places of interest around Kathmandu-Patan or Bhaktapur cities. In the afternoon introduction with trek guide re-check your trek equipment overnight in hotel.

Day 3 : Drive to Dharapani (1,943m) via Besisahar by bus 7 hours journey

Starting this wonderful adventure with an interesting overland drive towards Nepal mid west, leading to Beshishar town (headquarter of Lamjung district). From here transfer to another vehicle and continue drive on dirt road passing villages of Khudi, Bhulbhule and Ngadi following the Marsyangdi River upstream, from here drive continues through rice terraces fields and villages to Syange a small village and then climb towards cooler alpine area at Dharapani village for overnight stop in the comfort of nice lodge. Dharapani a nice village located on a junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.

Day 4 : Trek from Dharapani to Kotto 5 hours

Our first day walk starts into cool rhododendron and pine forest passing villages of Bagachap and Danque, then to Timang village from here onwards into more Buddhist area, with super view of Mt. Manaslu 8,163m / 26,781ft, from this village few hours trek leads to Koto village for overnight stop, just close distance from Chame town headquarter of Manang district. From Koto where the trek to Nar & Phu starts on leaving the main Annapurna circuit trail.

Day 5 : Trek from Kotto to Dharmasala (3,290) 5 hours

After Koto our route heads north away from Annapurna circuit trail for a week heading towards Nar & Phu villages, in the hidden areas of Upper Manang valley near South West Tibet border in the country of blue sheep’s and snow leopards. Trek leads into narrow valley with forest of pines and rhododendron trees, then reaching nice pasture fields with huts and sheds of Yak herders and in the gorge formed by Pisang Peak and Kang-guru Himal lower basin, walk continues following Nar-Phu River upstream to reach at Dharmashala for overnight stop.

Day 6 : Trek from Dharmasala to Kayang (3,570m) 5 hours

Morning walk leads towards far north towards Phu village isolated area of dry, arid landscapes, on the lookout for some wildlife’s Blue Sheep’s, Snow Leopard, Musk deer’s and mountain goats. Walk continues to Kyang for overnight stop after an interesting day, Kyang with dozen houses of Tibetan culture.

Day 7 : Trek from Kayang to Phu Village (4,200m) 6 hours

Today destination to Phu village morning walk towards Phu River following upstream for some time and then descending back to river again, then climb to reach a gorge valley, walking around gorge for some time and up into a wide glacial valley with pasture lands ending at Phu village of strong Tibetan influence culture, traditions and religion.

Day 8 : Rest day at Phu valley hike around Phu village

A necessary rest day at Phu for acclimatization, explore this impressive village visit Tashilkhang and Samdu Choling Monastery and Kyauchyu waterfalls, Phu Village with about 30 houses for 100 to 150 inhabitants.

Day 9 : Trek from Phu village to Nar phedi (4,150m) 6 hours

From Phu village walk leads back on the same trail for few hours descending to a narrow gorge at Phu khola, from here a slow climb to reach at Yughat small village with mani, chortens and Buddhist shrines, then finally reaching on a flat field at Nar Phedi for overnight stop.

Day 10 : Trek from Nar phedi to Nar- Gaon (4,206m) 5 hours

Morning walk leads back to Phu Khola for few hours to reach a suspension bridge over Phu Khola, crossing the bridge with steep climb for few hours reaching a flat area then walk to Nar village for overnight. Nargaon in comparison with Phu looks similar but smaller due to its remoteness with high altitude and dry land.

Day 11 : Trek from Nar to Kang-La base came (4,500m) 5 hours

After Nar-Gaon walk heads to remote wilderness, away from human settlement for few days, an interesting walk for few hours then with short ups and downs in some rocky and arid path, passing cattle herders shelters and grazing field heading further west following Temdenzon khola in this wild surrounding with views of snow peaks and finally reaching at Kang la pass base for overnight camp at 4,530 meters altitude.

Day 12 : Cross Kangla Pass (5,320m) to Ngawal (3,675m) 7 hours

Starting early morning to cross Kang-la at an altitude of 5,322 meters, walk climbs higher on a steep slope for few hours with stunning views of Pisang Peak with Chulu Far East Peak, and then reaching the top of the pass with wonderful views of Annapurna massif mountain range, Chulu Peaks, Lamjung Himal and adjoining peaks of Annapurna range. From downhill to Ngawal via Julu village close to Manang and main Annapurna circuit trail.

Day 13 : Trek from Ngawal to Manang (3,540m) 4 hours (End of trek)

After Nar& Phu where Kangla pass separates the main Manang high valleys, morning a pleasant walk downhill to Humde village, then walk to Braga village and visit its old monastery with ancient artifacts and statue of various Buddha with mind blowing panorama of snow capped mountains. After a wonderful time in the monastery, an hour walk leads to main Manang village for overnight.Trip over and you can discuss with lead wish to take a service continue to Muktinath crossing Thurang La pass or want to be self trek either share a help for transfer back to Kathmandu
