Introduction

Nepal as you know, known for its majestic himalaya and Highest of them Mt. Everest. This tour is for people who have got limited time and want to experience the best of Kathmandu, Nepal. The trip takes you to the inner part of Kathmandu to some of the UNESCO Heritage sites and gives you unforgettable experience flying over the majestic Himalaya including Mt Everst close enough to touch.

Day 1 : Your Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport we will greet you and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 : Temples, monks and local narrow alley

After breakfast we will have visit to two most popular Buddhist pilgrims site for Buddhist monks. After lunch we will visit to ancient royal palace complex knows as Kathmandu durbar square where the world's only living goddess could be seen followed by walking tours through the narrow streets full of local markets and shops.

Swyambhunath:

Located at the top of the hill approximately 4 km./2.5 miles west from Thamel (touristic hub). It is also known as The Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in parts of the temple in the north-west. It is an ancient religious complex consists of a stupa, variety of shrines and temples surrounded by forest. The stupa has a cubical structure present with eyes of Buddha, looking in all four directions with the word "unity" in the main Nepali dialect between them. The stupa is said to be 2000 years old.

Boudhanath Stupa

This stupa is located 8 km. East of Kathmandu city. It is one of the largest stupas in Nepal and listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It stands with four pairs of eyes in four cardinal directions, watching for righteous behaviour and human prosperity. The Buddhist Stupa was built by King Man Deva by the advice of the Goddess Mani Jogini. It is built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels. The shrine is ringed by houses of Lamas or Buddhist priest.

Kathmandu Durbar square:

"Kathmandu Durbar square" also known as Kantipur, the capital of The Kingdom of Nepal. Here you will visit the temple of the living goddess, who greets the devotees from the balcony of her temple residence, Kastamandap temple, the origin of the name Kathmandu, which is supposed to be built from the wood of a single tree and Durbar Square, the ancient palaces of the Nepalese Royalty. The square is filled with temples and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 3 : Mountains, Old villages and oldest Buddhist town of patan

This morning you have the option of taking an early morning mountain flight before breakfast. The one hour flight is a truly spectacular along the Himalayan ranges including Mt. Everest. After breakfast we visit to some most popular old town near by Kathmandu city where the ancient tradition and culture are still surviving.

Khokana:

Khokana is tiny traditional village lies about 8 km from south of Kathmandu which has hold its own tradition and culture. The village is popular for its oil pressing center where mustard seeds are pressed using traditional methods. Traditional weaving done by elderly ladies, men crushing seeds on the street and courtyards are the daily activities that could be seen in this farming communities where they depends on agriculture.

Bungmati:

Bungamati is also known as a winter home of the Red Machhendra god of Patan who inhabit every winter in a big temple in Bungmati. Its large courtyard is often used for spreading grain to dry in the sun at harvest time. The long array of local houses attached to each other with similar style can be seen together with hanging red chilies in threads. If you walk between these alleys then the whole setting seems to be painted red.

Patan:

The cities in the Kathmandu Valley are made up of 3 ancient cities and Patan is located across the Bagmati River to the south of Kathmandu city. Patan is also known as Lalitpur, the city of fine arts. According to legend the founding of Patan dates back to Pre-Christian times. As opposed to the Malla cities of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur that were mainly influenced by the Hindu religion, Patan was for many years a major Buddhist city. It is believed that it was founded in the third century B.C. by the famous Buddhist emperor, Ashoka, who visited the town while on a pilgrimage from Northern India and built four stupas that enclosed the center of the old town. This would make it the oldest continuing Buddhist town in the world.
